What is the benefit of this service over playing normal CD's or local radio?

There are many differences and benefits.  Firstly, we create your very own "radio station" which is tailored with your own branding, messaging and adverts (if required).  Secondly, our music library contains over 1000 songs and these are played out on a strict rotation basis.  This means that songs don't come around too often which is good for your staff, and good for your customers!  Thirdly, our radio station software mixes everything perfectly and contiuously - and makes the output sound like an actual radio station!  You could play local radio in your outlet - but this would not have your branding, messages or adverts.  In fact, your competitors could be advertising on your local radio station.

Does Reactive Audio install the radio server for me?

No, we configure everything at our studio before sending out the radio server box to you.  The radio server could be a small computer or laptop (depending on stock).  You simply plug it into the mains and connect the supplied audio lead to from the radio server to your PA system.  If you have a wireless broadband connection, the server will need to be paired - or you can plug in the server directly to your broadband router.

Why do I need to connect the radio server to the internet?

The radio server will work perfectly if it is not connected to the internet as the content is played out directly from your server rather than out studio.  However, we need to remotely access your server in order to schedule music, upload new messages and so on.  If we are unable to remotely access your server, we will be unable to keep it up to date for you..

Can I stream the radio station on my website?

No, the service as supplied is designed to play out at your outlet rather than on your website.

How do I change my messages and adverts?

The process is really simple!  Once you are set up, you'll have access to our client area on our website and you can either send your requests via there or call your account manager directly.  Depending on your service package, you'll have a certain amount of included updates / messages every year.  Updates are generally uploaded and live on your system within 36 hours - although an express service is also available.

What about the style of my radio station and music choices?

We use our experience to create a radio station and music style which is right for your business.  The standard configuration / music style is what you would hear on "Smooth Radio".  However, if you have a certain style in mind (for example, more Jazz, easy listening etc) we will be pleased to gear this up for you.  In addition, if you have favourite artists - we will make sure these are included in your music library.

Do I need a PRS / PPL licence?

Yes, just like playing normal CD's or the radio in your outlet you will require both PPL and PRS licences.  It is your responsibility to ensure these are in place.  You can find out more at www.prsformusic.com and www.ppluk.com.  Licence cost depends on the Sq footage of your building.

How long does the process take?

It takes around 10 days to get you up and running

What about sung radio jingles?

No problem - we can arrange these for you.  We have many different styles that you can choose from - they cost around £400 per cut.
