Is my telephone system compatible?
The vast majority of modern telephone systems have an external music on hold port (MOH) which allows our digital on hold player to be connected to your system with ease. Some telephone systems may require an external MOH module to be added – please check with your telecoms supplier to see if this is required. Modern systems are very easy to install and we can advise you on this. We would be more than happy to speak to your telecoms supplier if you wish.
We have clients with Alcatel, Toshiba, Panasonic, Siemens, BT Meridian and many other telephone systems. We have produced a basic compatibility guide here
Do you install the system?
No, we are not authorised to interfere with your telephone system in any way as this may invalidate the maintenance of your system with your telecoms supplier. We supply you with the digital player and it is your responsibility to connect it to your system (normally with help from your telecoms supplier). It is a very simple procedure and we’re happy to advise you accordingly.
Can I use my own equipment?
Of course! Purchasing our recommended equipment is totally optional. If you are using a CD player or other form of playback equipment, we will supply your audio in the format required at no additional cost. However, please do take a look at our recommended option. The Tru Serenity MOH player has been designed to work in harmony with your phone system. It offers many benefits over a CD player, but is similar in cost - and is British Made. What information can I include in the marketing script?
This is entirely your choice. Many of our clients include their company name, strap lines and web site, products and services, opening times and location details, unique selling points, industry accreditations and awards, customer service assurances, company history, delivery times, new services or products, special promotions etc.
Do I need to write the script?
No, this is what we do for you. We have a very experienced team of copywriters who will create a really engaging and informative script that communicates your messages with your callers. Scriptwriting is so important to get right and with over 20 years of experience in copywriting, let us do this for you. You have the opportunity to review and amend the script before we move to the recording stage.
How long is the script?
Our standard on hold marketing script is between 600 and 700 words, creating up to 10 sales and marketing messages of approximately 65 words per message.
Can I update the script during the year?
Of course. We offer a full range of packages from one off recording to regular message changes. The frequency of changes usually depends on what industry you are in. We are happy to demonstrate how we work with clients working in similar industries.
What duration is the final recording?
Our productions are normally 4 minutes in duration and play on a continuous loop.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No, some companies require you to sign a contract which can be up to 36 months. We do not ask you to sign a contract; our approach is to provide the highest level of customer service, so hopefully, you will stay with us in years to come.
What choice of voice artists do I have?
We have a number of experienced professional voice overs from the world of television and radio. You have a choice of 1 male and 1 female voice over on every production. You can also choose male or female only if you prefer.
How do I select the voice artist?
With our creative experience, we will recommend the voices that we think match your company profile and brand. We have a wide range of voices and will suggest ones currently available. Of course, you have the final choice and we will work with you until the right voices are found.
What music can we choose?
We have commissioned a vast library of professional music tracks that are used for on hold marketing purposes. Again, we will select some tracks for you to listen too, which match your brand and image. We normally allow you the choice of 2 tracks per standard production.
Do I require a Performing Rights Society (P.R.S) license for our productions?
No. You do not require this license for any of our on hold productions. The audio is licensed for ‘on hold’ use only. Please note that you do require a P.R.S. license if you play commercial music or the radio to callers whilst on hold.
How long does the whole process take?
From script approval, our standard turnaround time is 3 - 5 working days.
How is the audio delivered?
We deliver the audio by email as an mp3 data file. All you have to do is copy the audio to the SD card supplied with the player. The new audio will then play immediately.
I do not have a telephone system, I work from home with a standard phone line.
No problem, we can supply a device which allows you to have on hold marketing with just 1 line, using a simple interface.
